S početkom hladnih dana i sezone prehlada povećava se mogućnost pojave astmatskog napadaja. Osim pretjerane podražljivosti bronha koji se mogu "stisnuti" s izlaskom na hladnoću, i virusne infekcije pokreću astmatski napad oštećivanjem sluznice bronha.
